Hundreds of staff from across the QEHKL headed to the Board Room to join Digifest 2026, one of the biggest digital health fairs ever held at the hospital.

Staff joined the fun afternoon which was packed with information stands and suppliers ranging from the hospitals own IT helpdesk and transformation team to external suppliers who provide all manner of digital services to the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group.

Organised by the EPR change team, many staff joined a ‘stamper trail’ too, collecting stamps as they made their way around Digifest, and all completed trail cards were entered into a prize draw with donated prizes ranging from an air fryer and a DAB radio to vouchers. The winners were:

There was an opportunity to meet the teams involved in everything the new hospital programme, the launch of our digital roadmap and the upcoming electronic patient record too. With the new digital roadmap launch video running all day and free refreshments too, there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share ideas and gather information about training, changes, digital tech on the way and different ways of using the tech we already have in the hospital.

Dr Lisa Cooke, consultant haematologist and Chief Clinical Information Officer at our hospital, was delighted with the positivity throughout the afternoon: “The staff have been really engaged,” she added.

Suppliers said they had a great deal of interest shown by staff from across the hospital.

Amal Kakomanu of Solventum, who held several demos of the system during the day, said: “We have had so many people that work in the trust come and see exactly where the trust is and where it is going in terms of the digital pathway. They have made time in their working day to come and see, it has been so good, they are genuinely interested.”

Sophie Tibbott and Nancy Jarvis of Mediviewer, the electronic patients document repository, said the engagement had been superb, with a huge amount of interest, while Pete Dawidow, of EPR delivery partner Huron, said it had been rewarding to see so many staff from so many different teams and departments: “We have had very positive conversations, people have been very interested.”
